Adventures in Action Storyboarding!

Many want to become action storyboard artists, but very few do.

This six week online class is designed to teach and train those who are serious about working in the highly competitive and challenging field of Action storyboarding.

David will teach you the tricks, shortcuts, secrets and lessons he has learned while working for Marvel, Warner Brothers and Dreamworks on such shows as Static Shock, Batman Beyond, Ultimate Spiderman, How to Train Your Dragon as a Director and Storyboard Artist.

We will expore indepth:

 Utilizing Storyboard Pro to it's best use to acheive dynamic camera movement and fluid drawings that look great in animatics!

How to properly analyze and thumbnail an action scene.

How to use and implement Sketchup into your work to alieviate the headache of drawing backgrounds, and how to actually use Sketchup to achieve a moving background.

An breakdown of Sakuga and what studios and shows look for. And how to achieve it in your work!

How to get Dynamic "snap" and "squash and stretch" in your action poses to bring them to life!

Videos of Action showrunners describing what they look for in Action Storyboard artists, and what they like!

The student will be given the opportunity to create a portfolio piece that will get them noticed by the major action studios.

Video analysis of FLCL, Space Dandy, Cowboy Bebop, Akira as well as contemporary action shows.

Students MUST have Storyboard Pro to take this class. As all work will be done using this industry standard program.
